These are the most accurate reproductions of some of the most famous Maya glyphs that have ever been created.

The molds were created from direct rubbings and detailed to show each and every symbol and line exactly as the original.

The material used is a combination of a special high grade cement mixed with marble sand to create a finish and look that is quite realistic.

We work directly with local indigenous artisans in the Yucatan and pay fair prices in order to help sustain this amazing culture.

Aztec Calendar
*Click on any image for an enlargement

Carved from basalt stone in 1479 it was dedicated to the sun god.  It’s a massive carving, 3 feet thick, almost 12 feet across, and weighing almost 25 tons.

When the Spaniards arrived in 1519 to start the Conquest it was buried and lost for almost 300 years. In 1790 was unearthed during renovations of the central plaza (Zocalo) in Mexico City.

It is now the featured display at the National Anthropology Museum. Not an actual calendar it reflects the Aztec understanding of time, space and celestial observations with of course Tonatiuh the sun god featured in the center.

Palenque was a Maya city state in southern México in what is now the state of Chiapas that flourished in the 7th century. The Palenque ruins date back to 100 BC to its fall around 800 AD.

After its decline it was absorbed back into the jungle. It has now been restored and is a famous archaeological site. The most famous ruler of Palenque was Pacal the Great whose tomb has been found and excavated in the Temple of the Inscriptions.

This glyph is part of a huge series that were stacked and the meanings have many interpretations.
